Observações sobre o uso dos afixos derivacionais em alguns crioulos de base lexical portuguesa e espanhola
Resumo
Na presente contribuição, examinamos a hipótese de McWhorter (1998; 2005) segundo a qual a morfologia derivacional das línguas crioulas seria transparente ou “composicional” com base em dados de seis crioulos de base ibero-românica. Mais precisamente, tratamos apenas da derivação afixal. Constatamos que, dependendo da coexistência com as línguas lexificadoras e/ou de adstrato, os seis crioulos estudados utilizam os afixos derivacionais de maneiras muito distintas. Contudo, na maioria dos casos, a derivação é semanticamente transparente. Existem, porém, em todos os crioulos estudados contra-exemplos ao postulado da transparência ou da composicionalidade semântica.
