O poder do discurso darwinista sob o olhar da teoria dos gêneros discursivos: uma análise dialógica dos elementos estáveis do enunciado
Abstract
Study devoted to a discursive analysis on the darwinism theme, important dis-cussion present in the sociohistorical, political and cultural context of the nineteenth century and linguistically and enunciatively materialized in the genre conference. Theoretically and me-todologically affiliated in Bakhtin’s dialogic language theory called Bakhtin’s Circle, especially in the reflections on the theory of discourse genres, this study aims at analyzing the discourse project of the genre from the perspective of one of the most important scientific dissemination activities that took place in Brazil in the nineteenth century: Gloria’s Popular Conferences. The present work, therefore, is guided by the observation of the genre, not only through the static bias of production (we refer to the issue of forms), but rather, mainly, by the dynamic bias of production. Thus, it takes its essential constituent elements (the thematic content, the style and the compositional structure) as objects of analysis, in order to, this way, analyzing the general peculiarities in the center of the social activity that is the one of the scientific knowledge dis-semination (in this case, our corpus refers to the conference about the darwinist theory) in the context of the eighteenth century in Brazil.
