This research explores the availability of indigenous open data on South American government portals. The objective is to identify, classify, and analyze open data on indigenous peoples in South America. The methodology is characterized as exploratory, divided into three stages: collection (selection of relevant datasets), storage (data is classified based on a framework developed from the challenges faced by indigenous peoples), and data analysis. A total of 813 datasets were found, but only 122 met specific criteria, with 23 considered relevant. The lack of standardization hindered comparisons between datasets. The results show that most countries provide little data, except for Brazil and Colombia; however, when analyzing the relevance of this data, we observe a drastic drop in the number of datasets. The study suggests the creation of a tool for the automatic compilation and dissemination of information on indigenous peoples, facilitating access for researchers.
