PERSPECTIVES OF INFORMATION DESIGN IN THE USE OF PLAIN LANGUAGE IN WOMEN'S HEALTH ARTICLES ON WIKIPEDIA

In contemporary times, Information Design stands out for promoting the logical organization of data to facilitate information assimilation. In this context, Simple English Wikipedia adapts to meet the needs of diverse individuals. This article aims to explore the differences in Information Design aspects between English and Simple English Wikipedia, focusing on articles related to women's health to understand the adaptations applied. The research employs a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory methodology. It reveals that while Simple English Wikipedia seeks to make content more accessible to a diverse audience, the simplification of women’s health entries requires adjustments to ensure the quality and depth of information are preserved. In summary, the convergence of Information Design and plain language in Wikipedia offers valuable perspectives for knowledge dissemination, particularly in complex areas such as women's health.
