INFORMATION LITERACY PROGRAM ON THE MOODLE PLATFORM AT THE LIBRARY OF INSTITUTO SUPERIOR TÉCNICO

The aim of this research was to create an information literacy program within the Moodle platform of the Instituto Superior Técnico Library, aimed at strengthening competencies in information search, organization, retrieval, management, and communication. This project sought to increase the use of information resources provided by Instituto Superior Técnico and the University of Lisbon, promoting user autonomy and reinforcing the library’s role within the academic community. The adopted methodology follows the ADDIE model. Additionally, the research incorporated international information literacy frameworks, such as SCONUL and ALA, adapting Tatiana Sanches’ model to develop training aligned with the objectives of Portuguese higher education. The findings highlight the importance of fostering information literacy services, promoting the development of information use skills, and reinforcing the strategic role of libraries in supporting research.
