Abstract

The Discurso fallando com El Rey D. Sebastião is the first known of D. João de Castro, grandson of the famous viceroy. It was written in an only day and headed to D. Sebastião, precisely ten years after his disappearance... The uniqueness of the historical and verbal context, the pioneering spirit and the scope of the proposals and the ability it has to represent the dynamism and evolution of literature of gender are reasons for the importance of this text, so far unpublished.
