Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the graffiti entitled Pretogalidade de ser (2022), by the artist Moami, based on her artistic and life experience, in order to reflect on the relationships between graffiti, migration and coloniality in the Portuguese context. It is a qualitative research, with a mixed method, composed of action research, netnography and oral history. The work Pretogalidade de ser (and the artist’s trajectory) seems to reveal the ambivalences of the globalized world and its own mode of existence, which recognizes the perpetuation of colonialities but simultaneously also affirms its belonging to the colonizing country and to the values of modernity. Thus, reflection on Moami's work signals many approaches to the complexity of contemporaneity, characterized by flows, transience and inconstancy.
