Abstract

The research maps Public Management practices in Brazil and Portugal. It uses SciELO Brazil and Portugal databases, focusing on practices in public management. It analyses 847 articles and uses the Bibliometrix tool for bibliometrics. Results point to increased publications on the identified themes, mainly associated with health and public policies, with a significant use of qualitative methodology in the analyses. Considers the existence of emerging topics addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, the new public management, governance, and training of health managers. Brazil and Portugal demonstrate commitment to the modernization of the public sector and investment in practical and applied research. It emphasizes the need to improve the knowledge transfer to the public sector, transforming research into actions to drive development.
