Abstract

Archives present a systemic organization of information that reflects human production and mirrors Edgar Morin's Complexity paradigm, but they are slow to adapt to the technological informational paradigm of the digital age. In this article we analyse how Archives have managed to adapt to these new circumstances they face, as well as identify practices that can contribute to their social and cultural visibility. In this regard, obstacles were identified, which, we believe, must give rise to changes, both outside and within these institutions. In our view, there are strategies that could be effective for resource management and integrating Archives into the current technological information-communication context, such as recruiting user participation, creating content, and re-establishing these institutions as dynamic and accessible cultural centres of great interest to the community.
