Abstract

The article presents a propositional theoretical model for information skills in the context of the 21st century. From the historical evolution and main theoretical foundations, evidences of convergence of the areas of librarianship, information science and information and communication technologies are investigated that allow the establishment of a theoretical model capable of representing the intersections between information, digital, managerial and by professional specialty. The research is characterized as qualitative, based on bibliographical and documentary research. The model reveals that information skills have a central role, linked to digital skills, highlighting the importance of mastering these skills in the current context.
