    It is published twice a year.

  • Cadernos IS-UP

    Cadernos IS-UP publishes original papers about specific themes with a knowledge transfer character, aiming to realize the value of science and maximize its impact. Establishing a bridge between university and society, science and practice, or even between research and social intervention, the Cadernos IS-UP are conceived from a sociological and/or other social and human sciences approach.

  • CEM – Culture, Space & Memory

    Aims and scope

    CEM – Cultura, Espaço & Memória (CEM Culture, Space & Memory) is a journal dedicated to disseminate original Social Sciences and Humanities research, edited by the research unit CITCEM – Center for Transdisciplinary Research Culture, Space and Memory.

    With a biannual periodicity and exclusively online since 2023, the journal accomplishes a double-blind arbitration model. It aims to create a space for interdisciplinary dialogue, reflecting not only the CITCEM researchers scientific production but also the work of other national and international authors.

    The journal includes a thematic section, as well as a section of other studies, books reviews, news, and interviews, that could be written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English.

    The journal has been edited by CITCEM (since 2010). The journal's direction is under the responsibility of the Scientific Coordinator of the Center and of the Editorial Board, which includes the editor responsible for the thematic section of each issue of CEM. 

    The edition of the journal  have the support of the Library of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, namely in the management of the OJS platform, in collaboration with the Editorial Board.

  • Civitas Augustiniana - Interdisciplinary journal for the reception of Augustine

    Civitas Avgustiniana is an international, peer-reviewed electronic journal that aims to dynamize the various dimensions of the work of Augustine of Hippo from an interdisciplinary perspective, with the aim of deepening knowledge and disseminating the impact of Augustinian thought in various fields of knowledge since Late antiquity to the present day.

  • elingUP: Revista Eletrónica de Linguística dos Estudantes da Universidade do Porto

    A Revista elingUP é uma revista eletrónica de Linguística dinamizada por estudantes da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, sob orientação de professores, e destinada a estudantes da área das Ciências da Linguagem.
    A elingUP tem como objetivo mais geral a promoção de situações que permitam o desenvolvimento nos estudantes de competências essenciais e transversais e, como objetivo mais específico, a dinamização de um espaço no qual os estudantes possam publicar os trabalhos realizados nos seus cursos.

  • Filosofia. Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto

    Filosofia is a double blind peer review journal, published yearly in printed and online editions with full contentin open access. Publication languages: The journal has an international character. As such, it publishes texts in the most relevant European academic languages (Castilian; English; French; German; Italian; Portuguese). Refereeing: The journal adopts the best practices of transparency and rigor in refereeing. All articles and critical studies are read anonymously by two external specialists.

    Acolhendo investigação realizada sobre a escrita medieval em função de metodologias comparatistas amplas, capazes de ultrapassar barreiras linguísticas, de género ou qualquer outra restrição formal, e também de uma abordagem filológica e de crítica textualGuarecer. Revista Electrónica de Estudos Medievais, propõe-se divulgar ensaios e contributos de investigação recentes que se situem dentro das linhas assim definidas. 

  • GOT: Revista de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território

    GOT - Revista de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território foi criada pelo Centro de Estudos de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território, em 2011, e lançou o seu primeiro número em junho de 2012. 

    A revista tem por objetivos a divulgação da investigação científica, a promoção do debate científico e o favorecimento da ligação entre a investigação fundamental e o planeamento e gestão do território, que particularmente se relacione com os interesses que estruturam a investigação do CEGOT: - Natureza e dinâmicas ambientais;  Cidades e sustentabilidade;  Turismo, património e território.

  • História: revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto

    História – Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto is the academic journal of History of the University of Porto. It was founded in 1970 and has been published continuously since 1984, on an annual basis. In 2011, the journal  started a new series, its fourth, with a new format and editorial programme. In 2017, the publication began on a biannual basis and exclusively in online format.

    História - Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto is a peer reviewed international journal. It aims to publish and disseminate innovative research in History. Even if historically oriented, multidisciplinarity and comparative analysis are also within its main scope and editorial orientation. Each issue of História – Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto is dedicated to a specific theme announced in advance, although the journal will also accept contributions to the “Other Studies” section. The journal welcomes contributions in Portuguese, Castilian, French and English. 

     

  • Intercâmbio: Revue d’Études Françaises=French Studies Journal

    Um breve olhar em retrospetiva faz surgir uma diversidade e uma riqueza de contribuições e abordagens críticas que só podem ser motivo de orgulho.
    Intercâmbio soube, ao longo dos anos, afirmar-se entre as diversas publicações universitárias do mesmo tipo, e manteve-se fiel ao desafio apresentado no projeto do primeiro número. A segunda série que aqui se inicia pretende refletir o reenquadramento do projeto inicial à luz das atuais mudanças, tanto internas como externas, na natureza das relações culturais luso-franceses, e na expressão universitária das suas novas complexidades.

  • Language and Law / Linguagem e Direito

    Language and Law / Linguagem e Direito is a leading international bilingual, bi-annual journal that publishes original research, review articles and book reviews on the fields of Forensic Linguistics / Language and Law. The journal is completely electronic and entirely open access. LL/LD publishes articles across the whole spectrum of the discipline and from both practitioners (e.g. chiefs of police, public prosecutors, professional translators and interpreters, expert witnesses) and academic researchers (lawyers and linguists).

  • Linguarum Arena

    A Linguarum Arena. Revista do Programa Doutoral em Didática de Línguas da Universidade do Portoiniciou a sua edição em 2010. Na qualidade de revista científica, tem como objetivo principal a divulgação de trabalhos sobre a didática de línguas que primam pela qualidade e pela relevância, em termos teóricos e empíricos. É, igualmente, um espaço que inclui os contributos provenientes de outras áreas disciplinares afins à didática de línguas.

    Linguística – Revista de Estudos Linguísticos da Universidade do Porto aceita propostas de artigos originais sobre qualquer tópico da Linguística, resultado de investigação fundamental e aplicada, em qualquer quadro teórico.

    Mediaevalia. Textos e estudos is a double peer review journal with printed and online editions. Journal of the Gabinete de Filosofia Medieval / Medieval & Early Modern Philosophy thematic line of the Instituto de Filosofia da Universidade do Porto. The journal was founded in 1992 by Professor Maria Cândida Pacheco with the support of the Fundação Eng. António de Almeida, and is published by the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto since 2000

    A revista Orientes do Português é editada pelo Centro Pedagógico e Científico da Língua Portuguesa da Universidade Politécnica de Macau e pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto com o objetivo de promover, a partir do Oriente, a publicação da investigação científica que se realiza no âmbito dos estudos do português.

    The journal Páginas a&b - arquivos e bibliotecas began its publication in 1997 and has been published regularly, every six months. It is a scientific periodical in the field of Information Science and its main objectives are to promote and disseminate research studies in the field, with the privileged target audience of teachers, researchers and students of university programmes in the field of Information Science, as well as as professionals in libraries, archives and information services in general.

  • Portugalia : Journal fo Archaeology of the Deparment of Heritage Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the Universitu of Porto

    PORTVGALIA is the journal of Archaeology of the Department of Heritage Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. It’s first issue was in 1980 and, since then, has been published annually. PORTVGALIA aims to be a space for debate on the major theoretical and methodological issues of Archaeology and to publish the most recent results of archaeological research in its various chronological areas (Prehistory, Protohistory, Classical Archaeology, Medieval Archaeology and Modern and Contemporary Archaeology).

    A revista PRISMA.COM apresenta-se como um espaço democrático e autónomo para a investigação, reflexão e divulgação de textos e trabalhos científicos, opiniões e críticas na interseção das áreas da Comunicação, Informação e Tecnologia, contribuindo para o engrandecimento destes campos inter e transdisciplinares.

  • Redis: Revista de Estudos do Discurso

    REDIS: Revista de Estudos do Discurso is a collaborative initiative between two academic and research institutions that have joined efforts to carry out a joint editorial project: the University of São Paulo, through the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages, and Human Sciences (FFLCH-USP), and the University of Porto, through the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLUP) and the  Center for Linguistics(CLUP).

    This is a scholarly journal classified at level A4 in the Capes Qualis-Journals, Brazil (2017–2020). It brings together studies in the field of Discourse Studies, aiming to encompass diverse research approaches within this area. REDIS prioritze studies that integrate linguistic analysis.

    REDIS is published twice a year (July/December) and receives submissions in two call for papers. The following specify how the issues for 2025 will be organized:

    Issue No. 16 (Jul/2025) will be a non-thematic issue. Submitted manuscripts must align with the journal's area of publication, namely Discourse Studies. Submissions are welcome up to May 5th, 2025.

    Issue No. 17 (Dec/2025) will be a thematic issue, with manuscript submissions restricted to participants of the Discussion Group "Entre Textos: Diálogos Transatlânticos em Linguística do Texto e do Discurso," organized by the Linguistics Research Centre of NOVA University Lisbon (CLUNL). This thematic issue will be edited by Dr. Ana Sofia Souto (CLUNL/FCT).

    Revelar: Journal of Photography and Image Studies edited by the DCTP - Department of Heritage Studies, of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto
    is a scientific journal published annually, with blind peer review, whose digital edition fully respects the criteria of the Open Access to Information policy. It accepts contributions in the fields of photographic studies, image studies, History of Visual Culture and photographic essays.

  • Journal of Geographical Education | U. Porto

    The GETUP journal - Geographical Education at UP, is an online publication, initiative of the Master in Teaching Geography Faculty of Arts at University of Porto. This master gathers input from various scientific fields of teaching and education, focusing on the geographical scope. It is in this context that GETUP opens the publication of works of researchers, teachers and students to share and disseminate experiences and reflections of all levels of education.
  • Sociologia: Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto

    Sociologia: Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, as a scientific journal, has as its main objective the dissemination of works of a sociological nature that stand out for their quality and relevance in theoretical and empirical terms, accepting proposals on an open access basis and without submission and/or publication fees. It is also a space that includes contributions from other disciplinary areas of the social sciences, publishing three times a year (one issue in each semester and a special themed issue).   • The Journal of US-Africa Studies

    The Journal of US-Africa Studies  is an international, academic and interdisciplinary journal published in Portugal by the Center of African Studies of the University of Porto (CEAUP). TJUSAS publishes original, peer reviewed and high quality articles which contribute in a novel way to deal with the US-Africa social and political relations. It is meant to address the US policies towards the continent and to advance knowledge of the different geopolitical regions along with many other US-Africa bilateral political, economic, social and cultural relations.

    The journal is published twice a year where the editorial project focuses on two major sections in each issue: Politics, Economy, Security and Strategic Interests and Education, Culture and African Societies.

    Esta revista assume-se como um espaço de conhecimento, de investigação e de celebração das artes numa perspetiva da sociologia e dos estudos culturais. Com efeito, as artes impõem-se, cada vez mais, como referentes emblemáticos da contemporaneidade, fazendo-nos lembrar que Kant, na sua Estética, considerava já que os sentidos das artes dependiam da existência plural dos homens.

  • Translation Matters

    Translation matters! It matters because it occurs in some form or another – interlinguistically, intralinguistically, or intersemiotically – in every communicative event. It matters because it is a crucial part of the transmission of information across time and space, contributing to the construction of languages, knowledge and identity. It matters too because the debates that it launches about the nature of meaning, and the processes involved in its generation and transmission, are fundamental to all aspects of human culture.

    This journal explores all kinds of translation matters, ranging from the theoretical and descriptive to the practical and technical.

  • Via Panoramica: Revista de Estudos Anglo-Americanos / A Journal of Anglo-American Studies

    Via Panoramica: Revista de Estudos Anglo-Americanos/ A Journal of Anglo-American Studies (ISSN: 2182-9934) is published by CETAPS (Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies), at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto. The journal, which is published twice a year, welcomes essays in Portuguese or in English, within the field of Anglo-American Studies, proposed preferentially by early-career researchers, from post-graduate students to researchers who have recently obtained their PhD degrees. Via Panoramica has a Scientific Committee which ensures double blind peer-review of the texts submitted for publication.
