Despertando em novas terras:
imigrantes portugueses e suas articulações locais e transnacionais na construção do anarquismo no Brasil (1899-1920)
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the trajectory of Portuguese immigrants, as well as their political and social networks, in the construction of anarchism in Brazil. We hypothesize that despite the anti-Portuguese discourses of Brazilian workers in the period covered, the Portuguese linguistic and cultural elements, in addition to the revolutionary organizationist and unionist tradition - which also influenced the Portuguese labor movement - favored the construction of organizations that united elements of the traditions of local struggle, with the internationalist and transnationalist tradition of Portuguese agents or their descendants.
