Sanctuary and Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Piety, Sanfins do Douro
Abstract
This article aims to study the Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Piety, “Sanfins do Douro”, and its double development: in space and time. In this way, it intends to understand the origin and implantation of the cult, along with the impulse to the sacralization of the territory, bridging in the construction of the sanctuary, an area of election to the pilgrimage. Developed the anthropomorphization of space in response to this new devotional pole, it attempts to understand the dynamics around the maximum exponent of devotion, the feasts in honor of Our Lady of Piety.Downloads
