Abstract

This paper analyzes the repercussions of the Israeli occupation on the cinema of Palestinian women, which deeply conditions the creation, production and distribution of their works. The analysis focuses on the Palestinian NGO Shashat, founded in 2005, whose films combat the invisibility and stereotypes
that women deal with, help transform attitudes towards women within Palestinian society, and serve as a means of expression of the their own
stories.
