Abstract
The Domestic Service Union (1976-1986) recognized the importance of combining the struggle for work with educational training for its members. This paper seeks to understand the impact of this training, through the political-educational tools used by the Union - literacy classes, plays and cultural campaigns - on the political awareness of women who had been deprived of education all their lives.
